The German-American Institute Nürnberg has again enabled students who have great interest in English novels to participate in the competition Battle of the Books, which has been a popular and eagerly awaited event for over 10 years. One team of these competitors were of the 11. and 10. grade from the AGW who had the chance to represent their school and hometown. It was not only about winning the competition but also enjoying the time in one of the most beautiful cities, being Nuremberg and getting to know the amazing people who
have planned this great activity. The participants who worked hard to become the experts of their books, e.g. The hate you give by Angie Thomas, Firmin:Adventures of a Metropolitan Lowlife by Sam Savage etc., had to stay in front of the buzzer with the support of their whole class and be ready to answer the questions. At the end of the heated contest between several schools in Bavaria only three groups won prizes due to their excellent and amazing job. Even though our school didn`t win anything we were more motivated than before because now
we knew what to expect and are ready to achieve a prize next year. We would like to thank all the people who gave us the chance to be there and have this beautiful experience. Thank you for having us.
